InternetEdit maintains a high quality of service while keeping costs low. Our standard editing options are designed to meet the needs of most customers, but we also offer editing options suitable for extremely mission critical documents.

For standard (single-pass) mechanical and copy edits, our standards are as follows:

• 97% or more of all required mechanical corrections will be identified
• 95% of academic format compliance violations will be identified

The following exceptions apply:

• Format changes to citations, footnotes, references and bibliographical entries may require information about the nature of the source (referenced) materials (for example, whether they are articles, database entries, or books). In cases where this information is not supplied by the customer, the editor may interpret incorrectly.
• Proper names may not be edited correctly, unless the customer specifically identifies correct spellings.
• Correlations between figures, tables and text are not checked unless substantive editing is performed.
• Corrections that require arbitrary knowledge (information that the customer does not provide and the editor cannot be expected to know) are not guaranteed.
• Mechanical corrections to mathematical expressions, code, or other highly specialized content are not guaranteed.
• With the exception of academic format compliance edits, formats are not normally adjusted during an edit.
• References to external documents or other sources are not validated for accuracy.
• Editors will maintain the overall style of a document, so long as it appears to correspond to a known style or convention, unless specifically instructed by the customer to adjust the style.
