Frequently asked questions about InternetEdit rates and quotes
How does Nocturne determine its rates? Nocturne uses a number of inputs to determine the rates it charges for InternetEdit services. Rates are determined largely by the fees paid to individual editors, by currency exchange rates, and by overall operating costs for InternetEdit (customer service, web presence, bandwidth, telecommunications, computer software, systems and infrastructure, process development, marketing, insurance, taxes, and office space). Nocturne also performs competitive analysis periodically to ensure that its rates are in keeping with the industry. Given our level of quality, range of options and speed of delivery, we currently have no price point competitors.
How do the rates in each currency compare? We baseline our rates against US dollars and Euros, and adjust the Euro-to-dollar ratio periodically. Rates in Canadian dollars are updated more often to reflect changes in exchange rates. We provide prices and billing in common currencies for your convenience. In general, you do not benefit significantly by choosing one currency over another.
Why have the rates changed since my last visit? The rates for InternetEdit services change periodically when the following events occur:
If you are requesting rush service, you may be asked to pay a surcharge (if your order is going to defer other work). If you are paying in Canadian dollars, your rates may be affected by changes in exchange rates for those currencies.
We offer standard discounts for academic edits. These academic discounts typically bring a savings of about 20%. In some cases we also offer promotional discounts. If you have been given a valid promotional code, enter it in the upload form or email you use to submit your request, and we will include the discount in the quote that you receive. Other discounts may be available if you are willing to submit your document with an open delivery date. Depending on our schedules and the available editors, we may be able to fit low priority jobs into 'downtime' at reduced cost. The disadvantage of this is that we cannot guarantee a delivery date, and we require a full or partial deposit before beginning the work. Email us to inquire.
